－ごあいさつ－
以前、「暮らしを紡いだ古裂たち」という展示会を開催させていただきました。この催しでは、絵巻や屏風などの絵画資料にみられる数々の染織品、繊維製品を例に挙げ、今に伝えられた古裂たちは、日本の暮らしの記録そのものであることを展示会を通してお伝えしたく思っておりました。あれから七年の時が経ち、現在心に深く思うことは、今私たちが出逢える古裂たちは、古い染織品を慈しみ、大切に扱い、この染織の世界を次に伝えようとしてこられた方々によって繋がれているということです。表具として、仕覆の姿で、断片のかたちで、長い間大切に伝えられてきたひとひらの染織品が、これからも先の時代へ灯るように受け継がれてゆきますよう、そのことを心から願い、今展を開催させていただきます。
会場では、魅力的な仕覆裂、表具裂、ぐい呑みなどの酒器の袋や包み裂に向く縞・格子裂、単色無地裂、染織の美しさが凝縮されている断片裂など、糸と色彩に深い味わいを持つ古裂の世界を、熱を込めてご紹介させていただきます。どうぞ御覧いただけましたら幸いです。

■There is a cafe called AUX BACCHANALES in front of Taimei Elementary School. Take the small street between the cafe and the vending machine located at the corner. The shop is on the third floor of the Taimei Building, which is the fourth building from the cafe on your left. It is the building which has a retro arched windows on the second floor.

－Message－
We previously held an exhibition called “The Kogire that Weaved Our Lives.”Through that exhibition, we hoped to convey that the kogire that have been passed down to the present are a record in itself of people’s lives in Japan just like those that can be seen in pictorial materials such as picture scrolls and folding screens. Seven years have passed since then, and at this moment, there is something we think deeply about – kogire we encounter today are the result of the efforts of those who have cherished and cared for them and tried to pass on the world of dyed and woven textiles to future generations. It is our sincere hope that these dyed textiles, which have been carefully passed down for many years as hyogu, shifuku, and fragments, will continue to be passed down to future generations. With these special thoughts in mind, we bring this exhibition to you.
At this exhibition, we will have some attractive fabrics that can be used for shifuku and hyogu, as well as for a pouch for sake vessels and as a fabric used to wrap the vessels. We would like to show you the profound beauty of the world of threads and colors that kogire brings. We warmly look forward to welcoming you.
